Almost every supplement company in the industry says that they use “quality” materials, yet news reports come out weekly showing that supplements are ineffective and potentially dangerous.

So what's the true story?

What does "high quality" mean, and what should you look for in a supplement?

We'll detail below what you should look for in a high quality supplement.

supplement guide

1. It Starts With The Right Ingredients

The first thing to look at when evaluating a supplement company is the ingredients that they use. Look for products that contain branded ingredients. Branded ingredients are ingredients that have additional scientific research that back their effectiveness.

For instance, the PharmaGABA® ingredient that we use in our Stay Asleep formula has clinical trials showing it's benefit for promoting relaxation.

Cheap, generic ingredients don't have this kind of research backing them.

A great resource for learning more about branded ingredients is Branded-Ingredients.com. Most Utzy products contain one or more branded ingredients, these are denoted on the back of each label.

While branded ingredients tend to be more costly, the additional research and processing that these ingredients go through make them well worth the expense.

2. Testing. Testing. Testing.

Ingredient testing is one of the biggest separating factors between a good and great supplement company. Look for supplement companies that provide breakdowns of the ingredient testing that they put their products through.

Many supplement companies skimp on ingredient testing because it's costly and slows down the manufacturing process.

At Utzy, we do in-depth testing on EACH ingredient that comes into our facility. We do this to ensure that our products are both safe and effective.

Another thing to look for is USP (United States Pharmacopeiagrade ingredients. USP grade materials have to go through extra testing procedures that non-USP ingredients don't have to. This ensures that the product is safe and potent.

While USP-grade ingredients cost more, they are well worth it. Having that additional testing proves the safety and potency of the end product.

When formulating our Utzy products, we use USP-grade ingredients whenever possible. You can see how we use many different USP-grade materials in our Essentially-U multi-nutrient formula

3. Buy From Trusted Companies

Purchase supplements from companies that have experience and a reputation for creating quality products. In the supplement industry, cost is indicative of quality.

Lower cost products are cheap for a reason. Buy from companies that are respected for their quality focus.

At Utzy, we've been manufacturing supplements for 20+ years. We even grow some of our own herbal ingredients on our company herbal farm.

Our focus is on creating premium, natural supplements.

In Closing

In conclusion, not all supplements are the same. There are important things that you need to look for when considering taking a supplement.

Don't skimp.

Buy quality products, in the long run it'll save you both time and money - and it will go a long way towards helping you achieve better health.
